Tares Among Us

Take notice of how Doctrine and Covenants perfectly compliments the Book of Revelation:

Rev 6:

14 [during the sixth seal…] And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together.

Rev 8:

1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

Now look at Section 88:

95 And there shall be silence in heaven for the space of half an hour; and immediately after shall the curtain of heaven be unfolded, as a scroll is unfolded after it is rolled up, and the face of the Lord shall be unveiled;

In the sixth seal heaven departs and is rolled together.

In the seventh seal, D&C 88 tells us that the heavens UNFOLD after having been rolled up.

There isn’t much significance to this; I’m simply providing it as an example of how perfectly the D&C gels with the Holy Bible.

Revelation doesn’t talk about the heavens unfolding, only being rolled together. To me, that’s evidence that God was only giving half the picture with the Book of Revelation; and that he would bring forth– through seers and prophets– greater clarity in the last days when these events would take place.

*

There are seven trumpets that sound after the seventh seal is opened. The trumpets sound after there is silence in heaven for about the space of half an hour.

When the first trump sounds, two things happen…

One of these things:

96 And the saints that are upon the earth, who are alive, shall be quickened and be caught up to meet him.

97 And they who have slept in their graves shall come forth, for their graves shall be opened; and they also shall be caught up to meet him in the midst of the pillar of heaven—

98 They are Christ’s, the first fruits, they who shall descend with him first, and they who are on the earth and in their graves, who are first caught up to meet him; and all this by the voice of the sounding of the trump of the angel of God.

This is exactly what Paul taught: “with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.” 1 Thess 4:16-17

The other thing to happen during the first trump is that the archangel has this to say:

94 … That great church, the mother of abominations, that made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, that persecuteth the saints of God, that shed their blood—she who sitteth upon many waters, and upon the islands of the sea—behold, she is the tares of the earth; she is bound in bundles; her bands are made strong, no man can loose them; therefore, she is ready to be burned. And he shall sound his trump both long and loud, and all nations shall hear it.

Those that are raptured are caught up by the sound of the trump from the first angel, and the first trump is also when the tares are ready to be burned. In Revelation 8 we read that hail and fire is sent down. Section 88 tells us that the great and abominable church is the first target of the Lord’s wrath.

Not only are the tares READY to be burned, before the second trump sounds, the tares ARE burned.

So who are the tares and what is the great and abominable church? Here’s a twist: the LDS church will in fact be the great and abominable church.

The parable of the wheat and tares (Mathew 13) explain this. Section 38 says that the tares are COMBINED with the Saints. It says that the enemy which seeks to destroy them in secret chambers infiltrates the Saints and becomes part of the church.

Now read Section 86:

7 Therefore, let the wheat and the tares grow together until the harvest is fully ripe; then ye shall first gather out the wheat from among the tares, and after the gathering of the wheat, behold and lo, the tares are bound in bundles, and the field remaineth to be burned.

The LDS church contains the wheat and the tares of the earth. The wheat is gathered OUT (to Zion) and only the tares remain.

Without the wheat, the LDS church is the great and abominable church.

This is further witnessed by Section 112:

24 Behold, vengeance cometh speedily upon the inhabitants of the earth, a day of wrath, a day of burning, a day of desolation, of weeping, of mourning, and of lamentation; and as a whirlwind it shall come upon all the face of the earth, saith the Lord.

25 And upon my house shall it begin, and from my house shall it go forth, saith the Lord;

26 First among those among you, saith the Lord, who have professed to know my name and have not known me, and have blasphemed against me in the midst of my house, saith the Lord.

When the day of wrath begins in the seventh seal, it targets the great and abominable church.

The first target of God’s wrath is the tares who are currently among the Saints, the ones that have professed to have known Christ but have secretly blasphemed him.

In studying this, I have come to a new understanding in regards to the Work of the Father.

I used to think the Marvelous Work and a Wonder was the same thing as the Work of the Father.

I was wrong.

The Marvelous Work and a Wonder is among the Gentiles, by the first elders who are, in scripture, the remnant of Jacob.

The Work of the Father is something entirely different!

It happens AFTER the Marvelous Work and AFTER the Saints have been gathered out and/or raptured.

1 Nephi 14:

17 And when the day cometh that the wrath of God is poured out upon the mother of harlots, which is the great and abominable church of all the earth, whose founder is the devil, then, at that day, the work of the Father shall commence, in preparing the way for the fulfilling of his covenants, which he hath made to his people who are of the house of Israel.

The Work of the Father takes place during the seventh seal!

The Marvelous Work and a Wonder takes place during the fifth and sixth.

3rd Nephi 21:

23 And they [the celestial Gentiles] shall assist my people, the remnant of Jacob [the first elders], and also as many of the house of Israel as shall come [wheat of the LDS church], that they may build a city, which shall be called the New Jerusalem.

24 And then shall they assist my people that they may be gathered in, who are scattered upon all the face of the land, in unto the New Jerusalem.

25 And then shall the power of heaven come down among them; and I also will be in the midst.

26 And then shall the work of the Father commence at that day, even when this gospel shall be preached among the remnant of this people [seed of Lehi]. Verily I say unto you, at that day shall the work of the Father commence among all the dispersed of my people, yea, even the tribes which have been lost, which the Father hath led away out of Jerusalem.

27 Yea, the work shall commence among all the dispersed of my people, with the Father to prepare the way whereby they may come unto me, that they may call on the Father in my name.

28 Yea, and then shall the work commence, with the Father among all nations in preparing the way whereby his people may be gathered home to the land of their inheritance.

The Marvelous Work and a Wonder is what brings about the New Jerusalem, the Celestial souls, before the day of wrath.

The Work of the Father commences in the seventh seal as destruction continues throughout the earth. The Work of the Father gathers the Terrestrial souls.

These souls are not recovered from the four winds, like the last harvest of the elect, but from the four quarters.

Ether 13:

10 [Marvelous Work and a Wonder] And then cometh the New Jerusalem; and blessed are they who dwell therein, for it is they whose garments are white through the blood of the Lamb; and they are they who are numbered among the remnant of the seed of Joseph, who were of the house of Israel.

11 [Work of the Father] And then also cometh the Jerusalem of old; and the inhabitants thereof, blessed are they, for they have been washed in the blood of the Lamb; and they are they who were scattered and gathered in from the four quarters of the earth, and from the north countries, and are partakers of the fulfilling of the covenant which God made with their father, Abraham.

  1. In a fairly new book “A Remnant Shall Return” the author makes a solid case that the remnant of Jacob is referring to the Lost 10 Tribes who will return. It is interesting that in Oliver Cowdery’s patriarchal blessing he gave to Joseph Smith – he says that Joseph has the keys to lead the Lost 10 Tribes into Zion (America) – but that they are currently not residing on the earth.

    • I’ll take a look at it.

I think the premise is simply wrong, however.

Section 52 and 109 refer to the the first elders of the church as the remnant of Jacob.

You bring up an interesting point– that the lost tribes are not on the earth. They will need to be resurrected at the second trump, and then judged according to men in the flesh.

They are part of the first resurrection.

Some people believe that only the celestial souls come in the first resurrection.

Section 76 says they “take part” in the first resurrection. Which means there is another “part” to the first resurrection.

      • The book makes a very strong case that “the remnant of Jacob” are the Lost 10 Tribes and they are not dead. They are living out a similar life – but in obedience on another plane or “chunk” of the earth that was taken off our planet. There is a difference between “a remnant of Jacob” and “THE remnant of Jacob”. I bought the book because I didn’t want to read it all online.

  2. The 10 tribes have been and still are on this earth. If you haven’t come across it before, you should read the following account.

The earth is hollow. I know how it sounds…but there is a LONG list of scriptures that support this idea if you are looking for them. There is also a second-hand account from JS which supports this idea as well.

D&C 133:26-27 “And they who are in the NORTH countries shall come in remembrance before the Lord; and their prophets shall hear his voice, and shall no longer stay themselves; and they shall smite the rocks, and the ICE shall FLOW DOWN at their presence. And an HIGHWAY shall be cast up IN THE MIDST OF THE GREAT DEEP.”

    • Thanks for visiting Loadius.

I haven’t really taken that concept seriously. However I appreciate your viewpoint– I will watch the link and read the site.

I interpret those verses from Section 133 differently.

“Their prophets shall hear his voice, and no longer stay themselves…”

I believe that is referring to the “prophets” of the LDS church that do not hear the voice of the Lord until the Lord comes in the flesh. The LDS church being the House of Israel, the lost ten tribes.

  3. Interesting that you use the term an “M Night Shyamalan” twist in this article. Especially when speaking of the wheats and tares and great and abominable church. It is my belief that many people, predominantly artists, writers, musicians, filmmakers are being inspired to write incredibly prophetic allegories right now that mirror and support the perspectives of scriptorians such as yourself. M Might Shyamalan is one example. In his film “Lady In The Water” you will see the allegorical equivalent of this happening when the evil creatures (who happen to look like wolves with tares for hair) enter the safe house/apartment complex of the main characters once they’ve left the house. This is but one small part of the story that contains almost an entire account of the gathering of Zion, coming of the lord (or great eatlon/eagle in the film) and winding up scene of the human family in this go around (7000 years). If you watch this film (and many other films) enlightened by the spirit, you will see how inspired they really are down to names, numbers, character’s strengths and flaws and even physical features (look for the one mighty and strong wielding the iron rod as a staff of power at the right time to push out the tares before the day of judgement).

There’s a beauty in what is happening in the world right now that should increase our faith and lead us to rejoice that the plan is unfolding exactly as foretold. I haven’t read all of your writings yet, but can already see that they mirror and support the mysteries that I believe myself and others have/are being shown either through the scriptures, in dreams or directly from the spirit.

    • I think you’re totally right.

Lady in the Water is a great example of mainstream media which correlates within our paradigm.

I believe individuals like Shyamalan are highly inspired.

Thanks for the comment and God bless.
