Previous parts of this series:
BTW I think that Part 3 of this series is my most important paper.
Did we have agency in heaven? A verse in Moses has made me reconsider my previous beliefs on agency.
I no longer believe that agency existed in heaven…
Moses 7:32 – “in the Garden of Eden gave I unto man his agency.”
Only once man was on the earth did agency become part of the picture. That means that the third part of heaven that followed Satan, chose to follow Satan IN THIS LIFE.
I used to believe that the players chose sides in the pre-existence, but I do not think this anymore.
My previous beliefs were accurate, in a sense, but only in a mystical way.
We must understand that everything consists before God. He lives in eternity; therefore, he already knows what the final state of each soul will be. In essence, he is already with us in the Celestial Kingdom. Time does not exist in eternity, only in this strange matrix that we supernaturally reside in.
The Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8) and Cain was a son of perdition before the world (Moses 5:24).
We know of course that the Lamb was slain in the meridian of time, and Cain became a son of perdition when he worshiped Satan, but from God’s point of view, this all occurred before the world was even created.
It was all before the eyes of God before any of it even existed; and it’s already over.
Agency only exists in this sphere, and its inception was once Satan tempted Adam. This was a “transgression” but not a sin.
Sin came later.
The children of men became “agents unto themselves” only once they grew up. That’s when “sin conceiveth in their hearts.”
The reason I do not believe Adam and Eve became sinners is because after their “transgression” they worshiped God.
Even after the fall, they were not sinners. Seth was said to even be “perfect” according to Section 107. Adam&Eve’s transgression was necessary to become like God, which is to know good from evil and choose good. (Moses 4:28)
[However, I also believe Adam and Eve could have become like God without the transgression, but that’s another story.]
Now take a look at the chronology in Moses 5:
12 And Adam and Eve blessed the name of God, and they made all things known unto their sons and their daughters.
13 And Satan came among them, saying: I am also a son of God; and he commanded them, saying: Believe it not; and they believed it not, and they loved Satan more than God. And men began from that time forth to be carnal, sensual, and devilish.
Fallen man is not synonymous with carnal, sensual, and devilish.
Only those that love Satan more than God are carnal, sensual, devilish.
Also, those that inherit the false traditions of their fathers are worshiping the wrong God, which makes them sinners. That is why the world is in a carnal, sensual, and devilish state.
Section 20 reiterates this:
19 And gave unto them commandments that they should love and serve him, the only living and true God, and that he should be the only being whom they should worship.
20 But by the transgression of these holy laws man became sensual and devilish…
Transgression– choosing Satan over God, just like in the Garden of Eden– is what LEADS to being sensual and devilish.
If you transgress the holy laws of not loving and serving the true God, you will become carnal, sensual, and devilish.
Why are Mormons carnal, sensual, and devilish?
Because they worship a false god.
In fact, the entire world is according to D&C 1:
16 They seek not the Lord to establish his righteousness, but every man walketh in his own way, and after the image of his own god.
Right now, EVERY MAN, believes in a false god….
No one has a knowledge of God. They need the Melchizedek priesthood/the baptism of fire to actually know God.
19 And this greater priesthood administereth the gospel and holdeth the key of the mysteries of the kingdom, even the key of the knowledge of God.
I am carnal, sensual, and devilish.
This is because I have not been reborn through a baptism of fire and received the knowledge of God.
The nature of God is lost from the earth until the Lord sets his hand again the second time. It is only then that we can be restored from our lost and fallen state.
In Ether 4 we read that the sealed portion of the plates only go forth when the Gentiles repent and become clean before the Lord. The sealed portion has not been published, so we obviously have not repented and become clean before the Lord.
This is why I am waiting for True Priesthood Messengers to bestow their hands on me and give the Holy Spirit of promise.
Only then will the Lord take away my carnal, sensual, and devilish desires, and restore me as a son of God.
But in the time being, we DO have access to the Spirit.
Ether 4 says, “he that believeth these things which I have spoken, him will I visit with the manifestations of my Spirit.” (Verse 11)
D&C 5:16 says the same thing.
We can still receive the manifestations of the Spirit.
The next step is the gift of the Holy Ghost, which we don’t have access to.
The third step is the baptism of fire.
The church of Christ offers the gift of the Holy Ghost, which can be bestowed by the elders of the church, when they confirm members into the church of Christ.
The baptism of fire/Holy Spirit of promise can only be administered by High Priests—who are ordained AND sealed unto that power—within the church of God.
Because neither the church of Christ, nor the church of God, exist on the earth, we only have access to the manifestations of the Spirit which come by believing in the word of God.
If anyone has received a baptism of fire, they would not sin.
If anyone has received the gift of the Holy Ghost, they would be able to ask God and receive whatever it is they ask for. (Moses 6:52)
Have you tried to pray for something and never got it???
That’s because you don’t have the gift of the Holy Ghost. You don’t know what to ask for.
For us today, we have been told to, “despise not, and wonder not, [in regards to the Book of Mormon] but hearken unto the words of the Lord, and ask the Father in the name of Jesus for what things soever ye shall stand in need.” (Mormon 9:27)
I take that to mean we need to ask God what we need, not ask for what we need.
We don’t know what we need; we need to ask to know what we need!
I have asked for what I, myself, stand in need of, and got the answer.
This entire blog has documented the answer I got.
