The Bridegroom Cometh

When the Bridegroom is about to arrive, we read that his Bride is asleep.

We all of course would expect that the foolish virgins would fall asleep waiting… but notice in the scriptures that even the WISE virgins are asleep, too.

So right now the Bride of Christ is sleeping! His true followers are slumbering. They aren’t living the fulness of the gospel. Instead, they are living a dream. They are in a twilight zone.

The reason for this is that the Bridegroom did not come as quickly as expected.

Mathew 25:5 “When the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.”

Christ was expected to come much sooner. According to Joseph Smith, September 11th of 1836 was the date that Zion was meant be established by. With Zion established, Christ could then rapture the inhabits thereof to stand on Mount Zion with him.

But Zion was not established. Therefore, the Bridegroom tarried.

Because of that, his Bride is now asleep. The second watch Saints are dead, and the third watch Saints are still under the veil that Joseph cast over the Saints as part of his intercessory offering. Joseph was told by God to, “make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes.” (Isaiah 6:10)

Because Joseph shut the eyes of the Saints, the Lord then explains that none of the people will thus be converted and healed.

No one is converted, because those of the Bride are still asleep. Yet a cry will be made, and those that have slept will hear the call.

Mathew 25:6 “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.”

Section 133 has TWO references about the Bridegroom. This is the first one:

10 Awake and arise and go forth to meet the Bridegroom…

12 Let them, therefore, who are among the Gentiles flee uto Zion.

Those verses explain that the virgins are told to WAKE UP, and then go to Zion. The wise virgins will then of course go to Zion. The foolish virgins, however, will still be trapped to Babylon, where they “buy and sell.” Because of this, the foolish virgins will not be a part of the Bride.

Then comes a second invitation to meet the Bridegroom.

17 For behold, the Lord God hath sent forth the angel crying through the midst of heaven, saying: Prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight, for the hour of his coming is night–

18 When the Lamb shall stand upon Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand, having his Father’s name written on their forheads.

19 Wherefore, prepare ye for the coming of the Bridegroom; go ye out to meet him.

This second invitation to meet the Bridegroom is in the same similitude of the prayer of Section 65:

1 Hearken, and lo, a voice as of one sent down from on high, who is mighty and powerful, whose going forth is unto the ends of the earth, yea, whose voice is unto men—Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

2 The keys of the kingdom of God are committed unto man on the earth, and from thence shall the gospel roll forth unto the ends of the earth, as the stone which is cut out of the mountain without hands shall roll forth, until it has filled the whole earth.

3 Yea, a voice crying—Prepare ye the way of the Lord, prepare ye the supper of the Lamb, make ready for the Bridegroom.

The LDS church has forever believed that Section 65 is the evidence that the LDS church is the stone cut out of the mountain without hands– that will not fall into apostasy but overcome the kingdoms of this world– but this is not evident.

The LDS church is no way shape or form destroying the kingdoms of this world…

Section 65 is a future event. It’s the SECOND invitation. Section 65 says the keys of the kingdom are committed unto man. But we know that’s not true in this current day. Joseph Smith holds the keys of the kingdom (eternally!) with Sidney and Frederick. (D&C 90:3) They were never bestowed upon Brigham Young or anyone else.

The Bride is asleep. God’s kingdom is not on the earth.

That’s why there is no mention of “awaking” in D&C 133:19 and in Section 65.

Once the cry is made for the Bride to wake up, THEN the keys of the kingdom will once again be upon the earth for the establishment of Zion.

The elect Bride will gather to Zion as promised, to be PREPARED (not protected) for the tribulations that will occur on the earth. (D&C 29:8)

Once they have been gathered, and raptured, there is another calling to go and prepare for the supper of the Lamb, the Bridegroom. (D&C 65, D&C 133:19)

Notice that the second invitation has nothing to do with MEETING the Bridegroom. Those that get the second invitation are the ones that go as GUESTS to celebrate the marriage between Christ and his church.

After the day of power– the rapture– the poor, the lame, and the deaf will come and replace the children of the kingdom and partake in the supper of the Lamb.

Another group of souls that do accept the second call are the remnant mentioned in Section 45, gathered unto Kirtland/Jerusalem (verse 43) to witness Christ descending on the earth with His Bride.

The remnant are they who belong to Christ at his coming.

Mathew 24:

14 And the gospel of the kingdom shall be preached unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth; let him understand:)

[the holy place is Zion!]

16 Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains.

Verse 16 is a somewhat confusing verse, but through modern revelation we can understand its meaning.

Section 133:

12 Let them, therefore, who are among the Gentiles flee to Zion. [the holy place!]

13 And let them who be of Judah flee unto Jerusalem, unto the mountains of the Lord’s house.

What Jesus meant in Mathew 24, was that those of the tribe of Judah, would flee to Kirtland, which is the mountain of the Lord’ house. Those are his people, the Jews. They are not the elect, but they belong to Christ at his coming.

Those of Judah are not part of the Celestial Bride, which is made up of Ephraim/the mixed tribes of Israel.

Section 133:

32 And there shall they fall down and be crowned with glory, even in Zion, by the hands of the servants of the Lord, even the children of Ephraim.

33 And they shall be filled with songs of everlasting joy.

34 Behold, this is the blessing of the everlasting God upon the tribes of Israel, and the richer blessing upon the head of Ephraim and his fellows.

35 And they also of the tribe of Judah, after their pain, shall be sanctified in holiness before the Lord, to dwell in his presence day and night, forever and ever.

Judah is the remnant that will be sanctified after all of their pain, the second group to receive salvation.

The Terrestrial souls eventually become sanctified; and, in my opinion they basically become the same as those whom are Celestial.

They are sanctified to be with Christ forever, and ever, like the Celestial souls. The only big difference is that they do not receive a fulness of God’s glory.

They will not be raptured and receive the richer blessing that Ephraim (144,000 & others) received.

Is Judah the foolish virgins?

I do not believe so.

The foolish virgins are not accepted before the Lord.

I believe the foolish virgins are the tares (the angels of the devil) that have attached themselves to the wheat. The Lord does not open the door for them like he does for those of Judah, the remnant, when they finally make it to the mountain of the Lord’s house.
