Nephi Prophecy pt. 4 “A Delightsome People”
This will be the last post of The Prophecies of Nephi. Hopefully, this series was able to give the groundwork for the next several topics I plan to write about.
To brief over where I was going with each post, I’ve this:
In Part One, I made the case that we are currently experiencing a massive worldwide apostasy. I also covered what the “times of the Gentiles” is, and how we are in an interim period better classified as the “days of the Gentiles,” before the times of the Gentiles opens back up again during the marvelous work and a wonder. I explained that during this interim period, the Jews are currently receiving a knowledge of the fulness of the gospel via the LDS church, and have been slowly gathering in on the face of the promised land, America. Lastly, I made the controversial claim that there are no prophets/seers/revelators during the time before the Sealed Portion comes forth. Even the true priesthood messengers, according to scripture, will have lost their revelatory fruits in consequence of the people failing to establish Zion.
In Part Two, I talked about the current state of the LDS church and how susceptible we are in being deceived. Nephi tells us that in the last days even the humble followers of Christ will err in many instances because they are led by the precepts of men. Because I believe the LDS church contains the covenant people of God (humble followers of Christ) I have to go as far as to say that they are being led by the precepts of men (General Authorities) and not by God (true priesthood messengers.)
In Part Two-point-five, I made it clear that Section 132 is a false revelation, the LDS temple endowment is counterfeit and irrelevant, and went over the importance of the third-watch doctrine. I also briefly explained why I think the LDS church was in fact rejected by God in or before 1842, that it was delivered over to the buffetings of Satan. Again, all of this in consequence with the failure to establish Zion and live the celestial law of the gospel as contained in section 42 of the D&C, which contains both monogamy and the law of consecration.
In Part Three, I gave examples of the complexity involved with Mormon history, highlighting the many-layered things that Joseph Smith may or may not have meant to say. I once again reinforced the idea that the marvelous work and a wonder has not yet happened, and that when the Lord sets his hand “again the second time,” this is referring to the Marvelous Work.
And now in Part Four, I’m going to continue on in 2nd Nephi 30, to highlight a few scriptures– all of which will ALSO reinforce the concept that we are still awaiting the Marvelous Work to burst forth. The passages I highlight here will also help shape the picture of what exactly we need to expect when the work of the Father has commenced.
Understanding what prophetic events must take place is pivotal for us to understand as we weave through the complex maze of the last days.
Believe it or not, I do not enjoy talking about the modern-day apostasy, and I hate saying anything negative towards the LDS church. It really is the best thing that we humans have got going. But since having lost the fulness of the priesthood, the true church has been unprotected by deceiving spirits for 180 years. It’s lost its way and is currently in a state of darkness and obscurity.
Yet even so, it is an amazing institution, and definitely a cut above the rest. I can’t stand hearing people bad-mouth the LDS church. Virtually no one knows the ACTUAL reason why there are problematic issues to uncover and understand. The haters are usually just as blind as the Mormon’s that put the GA’s on pedestals.
Quite simply, the LDS church really is a wonderful thing; and nothing is gained from discarding all its positive attributes.
However, the hidden things of darkness must be revealed. When we see the darkness, we can be prepared for the greater light to shine forth. Yet talking about how things have gone awry is NOT THE POINT.
The point is that our Father in heaven is amazing and all-powerful, and that we as mortals can do nothing but trust in Him. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the only thing that can combat the evil that relentlessly surrounds us. The devil wants us dead. God wants us free and alive and happy.
All of us in some way have been corrupted by the world. We’re in bondage, and captive to our sinful nature. But God has a plan for all those that love and seek the light of truth. As long as we don’t give up the fight, and keep the faith, the Savior has prepared a place for us. Be it here on earth at the New Jerusalem, or in the Celestial Kingdom with our Heavenly Father– the devil will not win this fight. Have the faith to know that no matter what happens, God has the power to save your soul. He does and can and will.
“Take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day.” (Eph 6:13)
In Chapter 30 of 2nd Nephi, from verse 3 to 8, we get a play-by-play of the events that will occur in the last days.
3 And now, I would prophesy somewhat more concerning the Jews and the Gentiles. For after the book of which I have spoken shall come forth, and be written unto the Gentiles, and sealed up again unto the Lord, there shall be many which shall believe the words which are written; and they shall carry them forth unto the remnant of our seed.
The Book of Mormon comes forth, and is “sealed up again unto the Lord,” which makes clear that verse 3 is talking about the time before the fulness of the record comes forth. It is the Gentiles that will carry the Book of Mormon unto the remnant of Lehi’s seed. This fits the history in which the Gentile church of 1830-1835 did indeed send missionaries to teach the Native Americans.
5 And the gospel of Jesus Christ shall be declared among them; wherefore, they shall be restored unto the knowledge of their fathers, and also to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, which was had among their fathers.
6 And then shall they rejoice; for they shall know that it is a blessing unto them from the hand of God; and their scales of darkness shall begin to fall from their eyes; and many generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a pure and a delightsome people.
The mission to the Lamanites was not terribly successful, but the gospel of Jesus Christ was certainly declared among them. And we have a promise that through some few generations, they will be a pure and delightsome people. As verse 6 says, the scales of darkness have only “begun” to fall from their eyes.
So now, let’s find out what happens AFTER the Gentiles receive the Book of Mormon and declare it to the remnant of Lehi’s seed…
7 And it shall come to pass that the Jews which are scattered also shall begin to believe in Christ; and they shall begin to gather in upon the face of the land; and as many as shall believe in Christ shall also become a delightsome people.
Are you thinking what I’m thinking?
As I explained in Part One of this series– and again reiterated in the recap provided at the start of this post– the Jews prophesied of in scripture are currently receiving a knowledge of the fulness of the gospel, and it is the LDS church that makes this possible.
In essence, it is the Mormons who are the real Jews.
The Jews in Palestine may also be descendants of the covenant people, but the Book of Mormon repeats no less than five times that God only begins to gather the Jews AFTER they begin to believe in Christ.
As this occurs, they become a delightsome people. Does that not sound like the Mormons?
I’m now going to provide more evidence to prove that verse 7 is talking about the LDS church from 1836-onwards. But before doing so I want to get the context in place:
8 And it shall come to pass that the Lord God shall commence his work among all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, to bring about the restoration of his people upon the earth.
After the Jews are gathered, then begins the restoration? This timeline makes zero sense to the apostate LDS church. That is because they are blind to the prophecies that are speaking about themselves. They do not realize that it is THEY who are the Jews, and that the FULL restoration has not yet occurred. They think the Jews are in Palestine and that verse 8 is talking about the church that Joseph Smith restored in 1830; oh, AND… that the church today is the exact same church it was in 1830.
If only it was that simple.
The church Joseph Smith restored in 1830 was only a church of Gentiles. It is they who broke the new and everlasting covenant by 1835. By then, the church was in a complete state of apostasy. Had Christ, Moses, Elias, and Elijah not come to the Kirtland Temple, the LDS church would be nothing but a blip in history. But the church continued on, functioning through a different dispensation of the gospel.
Instead of the dispensation of the fulness of times being ushered in, to which Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery had hoped for, Elias committed the dispensation of the gospel of Abraham.
You’ve obviously all heard the BS story that Elijah brought the “sealing keys” to the Kirtland Temple–
I’m here to tell you that’s BS and that there is no such thing as sealing keys. If you don’t believe me, read Section 110 and show me where Elijah brings any such keys. Tell me where Joseph even said such a thing– that doctrine was pulled out of BY’s butt.
Interesting enough, Elijah doesn’t bring any keys.
At the close of the vision behind the veil in the Kirtland temple, Elijah appears last of all, to declare that, “the keys of this dispensation are committed into your hands.” (D&C 110:16) And what were the keys needed to function under the dispensation of the gospel of Abraham? The only keys given in Section 110 were the keys given by Moses: “the keys of the gathering of Israel.” (D&C 110:11)
From 1836 onwards, the church would begin to gather the Jews. Not the FULL restoration (from the four winds), but a PRELIMINARY gathering (from the four corners/parts of the earth.)
So why does the LDS church think that Elijah came to bring the sealing authority to seal families together? Because, “blindness in part is happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.” (Romans 11:25)
Israel had to come up with something to over-shadow the prophecy that has to do with their true identity.
Let’s learn some more about this prophetic event through the lens of the scripture and not through the teachings of the blind, Jewish GA’s.
Let’s look at the big picture.
In 1835, the new and everlasting covenant had been broken, just as prophesied of by Joseph Smith (D&C 1:15) and Isaiah (Isa 24:5).
What is the result of this happening? Isaiah goes on to explain:
6 Therefore hath the cursed devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate; therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
When the new and everlasting covenant is broken, that is when the prophetic curse is unleashed to bring about (the abomination of) desolation.
Now, remember what Moroni said to Joseph Smith about Elijah: “He shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers; if it were not so, the whole earth would be utterly wasted at his coming.”
If Elijah did not come in the last days to the Kirtland temple, THE WHOLE EARTH would be utterly wasted at Christ’s second coming– but because of the events detailed in Section 110, a new dispensation was opened up. The prophecy of Elijah would occur: the hearts of the children would turn to the fathers. This has nothing to do with baptisms for the dead (even though that’s what JS said) and it has nothing to do with sealing authority (which is what BY guessed.)
The true meaning of Elijah’s mission is explained in Section 98:
16 Therefore, renounce war and proclaim peace, and seek diligently to turn the hearts of the children to their fathers, and the hearts of the fathers to the children;
17 And again, the hearts of the Jews unto the prophets, and the prophets unto the Jews; lest I come and smite the whole earth with a curse, and all flesh be consumed before me.
The hearts of the children are the hearts of the Jews.
The hearts of the fathers are the hearts of the prophets.
Elijah’s coming before the great and dreadful day is connected to the concept of the Jews receiving the gospel.
With the Gentiles failure to establish Zion and live the fulness of the gospel, a curse was to go forth! The whole earth would be destroyed; but, because the Jews could then begin to believe in Christ, the whole earth would not need be completely wasted. After some few generations, the Jews would be a delightsome people. They will accept the new and everlasting covenant when God sets his hand again the second time.
The problem with the church is not the blind Jews, but the wicked Gentiles still attached to it. They are the tares that have combined themselves with the wheat.
After the times of the Gentiles comes in a second time to bring about the fulness of the Gentiles, they will have been given one last chance to repent. It is now in THAT generation that the devouring curse will go forth. (D&C 45:30-31)
Of course, the Elijah/Elias doctrine goes even deeper than what I’ve covered. For now this will suffice.
One last example as to why I think the LDS church from 1836-onwards is the Jews prophesied of in the Book of Mormon–
Before the visitations of angelic messengers in the Kirtland Temple as documented in Section 110, all the revelations speak of bringing the gospel to the Gentiles, and to the Jews at a later time.
D&C 19:27: “…my word to the Gentiles, that soon it may go to the Jew…”
D&C 90:9: “…unto the Gentiles first, and then, behold, and lo, they shall turn unto the Jews.”
D&C 107:35: “…and first unto the Gentiles and then unto the Jews.”
THEN in Section 112, AFTER the Kirtland Temple:
4 Let thy heart be of good cheer before my face; and thou shalt bear record of my name, not only unto the Gentiles, but also unto the Jews; and thou shalt send forth my word unto the ends of the earth.
Missionaries would now begin to gather the Jews. This is why Joseph Smith began to establish foreign missions. He was utilizing the keys that allowed God to begin gathering Israel from the “four parts of the earth.”
This is why Joseph Smith declared in the History of the Church, that “something new must be done for the salvation of the church.” It was not simply the idea of foreign missions, but that the Jews that would be gathered BECAUSE of these foreign endeavors. The Jews that would gather to Nauvoo would continue the legacy of when God set his hand the second time to recover his people.
When God sets his hand AGAIN the second time to recover his people, they will be restored from their current lost and fallen state. (2nd Nephi 25:17)
As delightsome as Mormons might be, they do not have the sanctifying power of the fulness of the gospel, to be truly born again through a baptism of fire. They will be in their carnal state until the fulness of the Gentiles comes to pass. Although the Jewish Mormons did transgress the commandments of God by 1842, this was at a much lesser level than that of the Gentiles in 1835.
The House of Israel did not break the new and everlasting covenant; they simply failed to establish it (by building the Nauvoo House to restore the fulness of the priesthood back into the church.) The LDS church has now been rejected for four generations, but because of Elijah and the pure-hearted Jews whom were gathered, the LDS church is worthy of redemption. Joseph Smith wanted to see the church live on. As prophesied of in the Book of Mormon, the servant asked the Lord of the vineyard to “spare it a little longer.” (Jacob 5:51)
We live in interesting times. The LDS church is just as true as it is false. Everything has happened for a reason. This is all leading up to the great and last restoration.
After the Gentile church slides into apostasy, and quietly morphs– to keep the church going– into a preliminary gathering of the Jews, it comes to pass that, “the Lord God shall commence his work among all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, to bring about the restoration of his people upon the earth.” (2nd Nephi 30:8)
This is the, “times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all the holy prophets since the world began.” (Acts 3:21)
EVERY PROPHET SPOKE OF THIS EVENT. Just as every prophet testified of the coming of the Savior of the world, they also spoke of the final restoration of God’s people.
Abinadi, to use an example, spoke of it in Mosiah 15:
28 And now I say unto you that the time shall come that the salvation of the Lord shall be declared to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.
The final warning will be given before the end comes. Everyone will have a chance to flee Babylon. Not one person will miss the opportunity, no matter what country they’re from or what language they speak.
This will not be teenaged LDS missionaries, with memorized teaching points about stuff they don’t even understand, who no one can take seriously, who are only allowed to go where the governments allow them–
This will be Melchizedek-priesthood holding messengers of heaven, who go forth in power.
Section 1 of the D&C prophesied of this event:
4 And the voice of warning shall be unto all people, by the mouths of my disciples, whom I have chosen in these last days.
5 And they shall go forth and none shall stay them, for I the Lord have commanded them.
The disciples who were “chosen” have not given the final warning yet. Just as I mentioned earlier that the servant of the vineyard (Joseph Smith) asked the Lord of the vineyard to spare the vineyard a little longer before the final harvest, this has put final warning on hiatus.
Those chosen of God and ordained to give the final warning must come back in the flesh to do such.
Jacob 6:2: “And the day that he shall set his hand again the second time to recover his people, is the day, yea, even the last time, that the servants of the Lord shall go forth in his power, to nourish and prune his vineyard; and after that the end soon cometh.”
This will be the most remarkable event to ever occur– besides the Atonement of Jesus Christ, obviously.
Back to 2nd Nephi 30:
10 For the time speedily cometh that the Lord God shall cause a great division among the people, and the wicked will he destroy; and he will spare his people, yea, even if it so be that he must destroy the wicked by fire.
This final work will lead to the great polarization of humankind. People will either choose God or choose Satan. The great division between both sides will be made known. We will discover who the true players are for each side.
It’s my personal suspicion that a lot of the religious types will be revealed to have actually been pawns of Satan, while “atheists” will be discovered as true servants of God. In the meanwhile, we have no way of knowing. All we can know right now is which side we plan on being on. If we are genuine in that desire, we will do everything that we can to make sure we are prepared to make the right choice when the time comes.
1st Nephi 14:
7 For the time cometh, saith the Lamb of God, that I will work a great and a marvelous work among the children of men; a work which shall be everlasting, either on the one hand or on the other–either to the convincing of them unto peace and life eternal, or unto… the captivity of the devil…
The LDS church is not the Marvelous Work. Those that do not accept the LDS truth claims are obviously not delivered over to the captivity of the devil. Right now the spirit of God is working through all faiths and people, preparing the elect in whatever type of circumstance they’re in. When the final warning goes forth, the elect will accept the call.
The House of Israel will be restored from their lost and fallen state. (2nd Nephi 25:17)
The LDS church will be cleansed of the tares. (D&C 86:7) The prophecy will finally come to pass that all those who do not hearken to the words of Christ will be cut off from among the people. (JS-Mathew 1:55/3rd Nephi 21:11)
The repentant Gentiles will be numbered among the House of Israel. (1st Nephi 14:2)
“it shall come to pass that the inhabitants of Zion shall judge all things pertaining to Zion, and liars and hypocrites shall be proved by them, and they who are not apostles and prophets shall be known.” (D&C 64:38-39)
My next post will be about the succession of LDS leadership, and the difference between current LDS leadership and those who have been chosen to give the final warning before the desolation of abomination occurs.
That is the close of this series.
